Increase Your Chances of Finding a Babysitter
If you’re having trouble finding a babysitter, there might be a few things you can do to resolve the problem. Finding a babysitter shouldn’t be extremely difficult if you know where to look and you have reasonable expectations. Here are some things you can do to boost your chances of finding a babysitter.
- Be realistic. Remember that sometimes you can find a babysitter at the last minute, but whenever possible, try to give yourself enough time to search. One to two weeks is a reasonable minimum amount of time to locate a babysitter for an evening out but many families find a babysitter within the first couple days.
- Offer market rate. Find out what other parents are paying babysitters in your area. The pay for babysitters can range based on experience, locale, and the number of children you have, but offering something in line with what other families are paying makes it a lot easier to find the right babysitter.
- Be clear about your expectations. Know what you are looking for in a babysitter. Knowing what you want will help you pinpoint the right person for the job – both during the interview process and during your search.
